How it works
Four ideas do most of the work: verified numbers, risk beside every return, calls that get graded, and privacy you actually control.
1 · Connect, read-only
You link a brokerage or exchange account with read-only access. Firal can see positions and their history; it cannot place an order, move money, or change anything in your account. Consent is explicit before any data is read, and you can disconnect at any time.
Positions that come through a connection are marked verified. You can also add holdings by hand — those are permanently labelled self-reported so nobody confuses the two.
2 · The 1–7 risk score
Every performance figure on Firal is shown next to a risk score from 1 to 7, using the same scale European funds use (the PRIIPs SRI, formerly the UCITS SRRI). It is built in three parts:
- Volatility bands.Your portfolio's annualised volatility, blended across holdings, is placed in one of seven bands with cut-offs at 0.5%, 2%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 25%.
- Concentration overlay. +1 (capped at 7) when a single company is 40% or more of the portfolio, or the largest three together reach 50%. Funds and bonds are exempt — a world ETF is already hundreds of companies.
- Crypto floors. Bitcoin and Ethereum can never score below 5, other alts below 6, and memecoins are always 7 — because volatility measures wobble, not the chance of going to zero.
The score is a measurement, not a verdict, and never a recommendation. A 6 is not "bad" and a 2 is not "good" — the right level depends on your horizon and your nerves. Where there isn't enough history to calculate it honestly, Firal shows — / 7 rather than inventing a number.
3 · Calls that get graded
When you post a call you attach a thesis, a return target and a timeline. When the timeline is up, the call is graded against what actually happened and it stays on your track record either way. The result is a history that includes the misses — which is the only thing that makes the hits mean anything.
4 · Privacy you control
Firal has three rings — Public, Friends and Groups — and you decide, per ring, what each can see: holdings, trades, percentage returns, risk score. You also choose how findable you are, and you can use a pseudonym publicly while your numbers stay real, because they come from a verified connection.
These rules are enforced in the database with row-level security, not merely hidden in the interface. Euro amounts are locked off for Public and Friends entirely; inside a group they are opt-in per person.
Firal is built GDPR-first: data is held in the EU, consent is recorded, and you can export or delete everything from your settings. Identity documents, where verification is required, are handled by a specialist provider and never stored by Firal.

Firal does not execute trades, hold client money, or provide personalised investment advice. It is a social and informational platform. Everything posted by a user is that person's opinion, labelled as such. Investing carries risk, including the loss of capital, and past performance — however well documented — does not predict future results.
